NEW VIRUS TESTING SHOWS PMC LIGHTING’S pūr-led LIGHTING EFFECTIVE AT KILLING* BACTERIA, MOLD, FUNGI, YEAST NOW INACTIVATES AND KILLS VIRUSES
Warwick, RI — May 13, 2021 — Recent independent test results confirm PMC Lighting’s pūr-led lighting has been proven to effectively kill* viruses. While numerous studies have proven effectiveness of pūr-led, which incorporates Vyv antimicrobial LED technology (400-420nm), to kill* bacteria, mold, fungi, and yeast, there is now validation for successfully killing viruses on surfaces. This newest study confirms effectiveness against non-enveloped viruses, which are the most difficult class of virus to
destroy.
Vyv’s technology, melded with Build-2-Specification pūr-led lighting from PMC Lighting, allows a variety of companies to install customized LED fixtures with a focus on creating inhospitable environments for viruses*, bacteria, fungi, yeasts, and mold. By incorporating this technology into
product offerings, PMC Lighting strengthens their reputation for innovative design, quality craftsmanship and creative adaptability as a true lighting solutions provider.
“We have continually made investments in equipment, people, and processes so that we can be innovative and responsive to the changing needs of our customers,” says PMC Lighting CFO Jason Goldstein. “By incorporating this amazing technology into our product offerings, it allows us to maintain our reputation for innovative design, quality craftsmanship and creative adaptability, further defining our role as a true lighting solutions provider.”
“PMC Lighting began engineering new solutions with Vyv’s antimicrobial light prior to the current pandemic. Together, we’ve been on a path to bring a new class of continuous microbial protection to address the world’s ever-evolving microbial challenges,” said Costello. “The implications are vast
because unlike harmful UV-C light, Vyv’s patented technology can be used continuously and without restriction 24/7 around people, animals and plants.”

*Testing on a non-enveloped virus (MS2 bacteriophage) showed a 99.985% reduction in controlled laboratory testing in 6 hours on hard surfaces. MRSA and E. coli showed 90%+ reduction in controlled laboratory testing in 24 hours on hard surfaces. Results may vary depending on the amount of light that is reaching the surfaces in the
space where the product is installed and the length of time of exposure. Use of Vyv antimicrobial light is not intended to replace manual cleaning.
